Alia Komioti advises on civil, corporate and commercial matters and is an experienced litigator, having been a member of the Athens Bar Association since 2005.
She works within our Corporate and Commercial and M&A practice groups, advising clients on a wide range of commercial, corporate and employment issues, including due diligence, M&A and other corporate transactions, company formation, establishment and regulation, commercial and lease agreements, labor disputes and general business operation. She has advised on a number of very significant transactions and continues to provide day-to-day commercial legal advice to international and domestic clients. In year 2022-2023 she served as internal legal counsel on secondment to P&G Greece, where she supported the company on issues relating to marketing practices, advertising disputes, antitrust law and legal restrictions on pricing.
Alia has represented clients from a wide range of industries in disputes and successfully served as defense counsel in several high-profile criminal cases.
Alia advises a wide range of large international corporates in their day-to-day legal needs in Greece, including Goodyear Tires, Procter and Gamble, Dow Chemical, Whirlpool, Miele, Hilti, Heineken and Sony, as well as many leading Greek entities. She also advises companies on the most effective ways to incorporate in Greece, including setting up a Greek branch for Space X Technologies.
Alia has advised clients including DEPA, Sony Music and Whirlpool on complex restructurings, using a wide range of strategies including share transfers and mergers by absorption. She continues to advise Cardlink, the leading payment systems operator in Greece, in various commercial matters, and has acted as legal advisor to the recently opened Grand Hyatt, which is one of the largest hotels in Athens and is owned and operated by US real estate fund Hines, a global leader in real estate development.
Alia has played an important role in a number of major transactions recently. She was a key member of the Lambadarios team that advised El Sewedy Electric in its €55m acquisition of three wind parks and two hydro-electric plants in Greece, contributing to the legal due diligence and also advising on the acquisition finance that underpinned this important transaction.
A member of the Athens Bar Association since 2005, Alia, has a solid track record as a litigation lawyer, handling judicial and extrajudicial disputes arising out of all areas of private law and representing clients from diverse market fields including medical care, media, real estate, cosmetics, construction and retail.
Alia has also successfully acted as defense attorney in a number of notable criminal cases of public interest, including “Case of Panteion University” and “Case of Hellenic NARIC – DOATAP”.
