Advising on Greece’s largest Energy Storage investment.
We are proud to announce that we have acted as the lender’s legal advisor to Piraeus Bank S.A. in the financing of Greece’s largest pumped hydro storage station, in the municipality of Amfilochia, Western Greece.
The €620m financing project “Hydro Pumped Storage Complex in Amfilochia” of Terna Energy involves the design, development, and construction of two stations in Pyrgos and Agios Georgios with a production capacity of up to 680 MW and a pumping capacity of up to 730 MW.
This vital investment in Greece’s energy transformation, aims to secure energy storage and maximization of renewable energy (RES) penetration in the energy production mix in Greece, contributing to sustainability and achieving the 2030 National Energy and Climate Plan goals.
