On May 26 and 27, 2022 Lefkothea Nteka, head of our Competition & Antitrust practice, chaired a seminar on core principles of competition law organized by the OECD – GVH Regional Centre for Competition, funded by the European Commission and addressed to national judges of both administrative and civil courts from 15 national jurisdictions, including Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands, Italy, Belgium, Greece, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Hungary, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Czech Republic and Albania. The seminar provided an overview of notions such as cartels, burden and standard of proof, vertical agreements and restraints under the new Block Exemption Regulation and accompanying Guidelines, abuse of dominance, self-preferencing and data-related abuses, and rights of defense in investigative measures.
